The Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera is the long-awaited replacement model to the wonderful Nikon D80, which should be a top-of-the-line model for a very long time. Overall, the D5000 has to live up to all the hype and expectations. For its price, this model comes with an impressive feature set. It comes with a 18-55mm lens that is very sharp and has a good focus. It uses a 12.3MP image sensor.- DSLR camera

The Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera is also extremely fast. From acold start, it is ready to take its first shot is just 0.2 seconds. It shot-to-shot time is at just 0.5 seconds and a typical shutter lag time of 0.3 seconds. The only other model (in its class) in the market that matches this speed is the Canon EOS Rebel T1i.- DSLR camera

The quality of the images taken on the Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera is extremely good. The images were well saturated and bright. The colors were also very accurate (realistic). The quality of the images was also good at high ISO. It can also record HD video at 720p. Although not write is acceptable, were the quality of HD video on too.
